On October 14th, the Kilimahewa Modern Secondary School community came together for a joyful and memorable Form Four Graduation Ceremony — a full-day celebration filled with pride, colour, and achievement. Under the theme “Strive, Shine, Soar,” the event honoured the hard work, growth, and determination of our graduating class.
For the first time, the ceremony took place on our newly developed multipurpose school playgrounds, where large tents and seating were beautifully arranged to host all students, staff, parents, neighbours, and friends who joined us for the occasion.
Our students dressed exceptionally well for their big day. The boys wore the iconic Kaunda suit, one of Africa’s most admired styles, while the girls graced the event with elegant gowns, adding charm and colour to the celebration.
The programme was rich and exciting, featuring computer exhibitions, energetic talent show performances, traditional and modern dances, melodious school choir presentations, heartfelt speeches, greetings from guests, and a delightful heavy lunch shared by all. The atmosphere was filled with joy and unity, with plenty of photoshoots to capture the day’s unforgettable moments.
Three board members graced the ceremony, joining the Director in awarding certificates of appreciation to students who demonstrated excellence in academics, discipline, leadership, and neatness. A standout moment was the recognition of Mustapha Omary, who received multiple certificates, including Overall Academic Performance and Best Science Performer, earning loud applause from the audience.

In his message, the Director congratulated parents for their commitment to educating their children and applauded the students for their hard work throughout their years at Kilimahewa. He encouraged the graduates to remember that the journey of education continues, and each step ahead is an opportunity to grow, learn, and excel.
This year’s graduation was a beautiful reminder of what our school community can achieve together — celebration, unity, and the promise of a bright future for our students.
